The Red Team emerged champions of the 2026 KNUST Preschool Annual Sports Festival, outperforming three other teams in a day marked by energetic displays of teamwork, determination and excitement.
Held under the theme, "Little Champions, Big Dreams," the festival featured a variety of races, games and performances designed to promote confidence, active learning and social development among the children. The Red Team secured first place with 36 points, followed by the Yellow Team with 31 points. The Blue and Green teams placed third and fourth with 22 and 18 points respectively.

Welcoming guests to the event, the Deputy Head of the KNUST Preschool, Mrs. Olivia Ayensu, described the occasion as a celebration of courage, joy and childhood dreams.
"Our theme today is 'Little Champions, Big Dreams,' and here in our preschool, we believe a champion is not made by the trophy they hold, but by the courage they show when they try something new," she said.
Mrs. Ayensu encouraged the children to do their best, support one another and enjoy the activities.
"You do not have to be the fastest or the strongest. You just have to try your best, help your friends and have fun," she added.

The Head of the KNUST Basic School, Rev. Mrs. Irene Owusuaa Nkansah, also urged the pupils to participate wholeheartedly in every activity, noting that the festival was not solely about competition or rankings but about building confidence, participation and joy among the children.
She described the occasion as more than a series of races and games, saying it provided an opportunity to celebrate the dreams, bravery and creativity of young children.
Rev. Mrs. Nkansah further encouraged parents to celebrate every effort made by their children and reminded them that true greatness begins with small, joyful steps.
"Let your child see that your pride in them does not depend on a ribbon, but on their effort and their joy," she said.
